Irrational decisions

The power of referral. Have you noticed that if someone who you trust recommends something you will most likely be purchasing what he or she recommended, simply because you trust that person to give you good advice. We do not make logical decisions when it comes to purchasing, and this is why some of the giant corporations are so good at selling to us because they target our subconscious mind. We make decisions unknowingly when we see something for sale. It also goes the opposite way as well if a person who you trust tells you they don't like something then most chances are you will not make the purchase, and if you do and have a bad experience, you will never do it again. What also holds as a strong persuasive tool is the scarcity on time and exclusivity. They present a higher value, and a buyer's decision may be swayed, FOMO (fear of missing out). If there is a group that is exclusive and charges a monthly fee you might want to join to feel part of something important, or if there is a deadline on a sale your subconscious will tell you to make the purchase because it is a good deal, however this is how people get manipulated into buying. Most of the time the items on sale you would never purchase in the first place, so why do you do it when it is on sale? Because we do not make rational decisions when we buy. If you can target someones emotions you have won over the buyer's decision. Great motivational sales books to read are written by Zig Ziglar, he is a mastermind at sales tactics. As well another fantastic book for entrepreneurs to read is The E-Myth, very fascinating content, regarding working on your business and how to target your ideal consumers.

Leadership Role

I choose to be a leader. I choose to take care of my family, friends, coworkers, partners, lover, and all those in my circle and outside of my circle. I choose to go out of my way for these people because I feel that when I take care of them, they take care of me. For example I stood by and helped my partner in my steam cleaning business to get him from his dad's 800 squarefoot basement suite, living with 3 children and his girlfriend, into getting his own 1500 squarefoot condo of which he now owns himself. I see talent and potential in my partner and I didn't give up on him considering the conditions he was living in. I stepped in and got him out of the rut because I know that he will stand by me when I will need it too. I don't expect him too, I just know he will. Leadership is not a title or a position, it is an act and an example. To be a leader you take care of people so they can take care of business. Great leaders inspire others to take action that they normally wouldn't do, they will help bring your strengths out and they will hold you accountable and help you succeed. You should never blame and always assume responsibility. Simon Sinek quoted that "joy comes from two things:
1. Doing something greater then yourself
2. Doing it with others who you trust and who trust you"
He is an amazing inspiring Writer, Leader and Innovator. He took what is so simple and uncommon into what should be the standard. Start With Why is a novel written by Simon Sinek. He goes to say that all businesses know what they do, and how they do it, but the ones that understand why they are doing it, are the ones who seem to capture our attention. If you have a big enough why you will never give up. Leadership is the same as parenting, it is a skill that can be learned, you should be practicing it daily. My goal is to make leaders out of the people that I lead. Leadership comes at a cost, you take the risk and go first so that others feel safe following your lead. If you don't understand people you don't understand business. 100 percent of shareholders are people, 100 percent of employees are people, 100 percent of customers are people. His book Leaders Eat Last talks about how leaders go first.

Self-Expression

The power of the pen. In this digital age we are consumed by our smart phones, lap tops, computers, smart watches, Ipods and Ipads. Out technology is advancing at an exponential rate, and instead of making us more connected, it is making us more disconnected from the real world. What do I mean by the real world? I am talking about being in tune with yourself, nature, and the people you love. Start writing things down, I encourage you to step away from the dopamine highs you get from your ding, buzz, bell, flash from your notifications and start releasing some of your energy into a simple notepad with your pen. Its hard at first to sit down and write, in fact the most difficult part is starting, once you break that barrier of starting you will find your flow and continue to write things you would of never thought you would write. It is a great way to express yourself and you will actually feel good after accomplishing such a feat. I want to recommend to you an amazing novel I have recently read Let the elephants run, by David Usher. This book will give you a new perception on creativity, and how we are all creative beings and the world around us as we grow up puts us into this box of which our creativity stops flowing. Do not give up, just start, it doesn't matter if its right or wrong, all that matters is that you start somewhere NOW.
